The city - Trapani
Provincial capital, it is a town with a surrounding and cultural heritage of great value. It rises in a level region that lies down close by the sea and ends with two promontories occupied respectively by the “Ligny Tower”, built in 1671 and from which you enjoy a charming view of the town and of the Egadi islands, and by a lazaret, nowadays the seat of the Italian Naval Association local department. Not far from here, surrounded by the sea, you find the “Colombaia”, or “Sea Castle”, one of the symbols of the town. Various are the typical products of the land, as wine, capers, garlic, oranges, oil, and the cookery, with its enchanting taste, is superlative and out of ordinary. One of the most famous dishes is the “Cous Cous of Fish”. And admirable are also the noble traditions that continue to be handed down in time, such as manifestations of religious feasts, coral and pottery local handcraft. Not many words to describe Trapani, an enchanting and full of history town.
